SCENARIO: Having been a Defensive Back for the National Football League's (NFL) Dallas Cowboys prior to an injury, and then headed to the Canadian Football League (CFL) on the Toronto Argonauts, Arjen Colquhoun felt as though his injuries had given him a misunderstood career.
TASK: Retell Arjen’s story and showing executives, fans, and fellow teammates what he had to offer through a series of press interviews, a social media content strategy and website launch to capture it all, all while earning endorsements and establishing partnerships with health & wellness brands.

For Arjen, our focus was on showcasing his personality and highlighting his strong work ethic. As a versatile athlete with a unique athletic DNA, we aimed to share what set him apart in football. We brought the charisma his beloved fans, teammates, and media personalities admired and appreciated to the forefront.
Wild holding nicknames like The Canadian Flash, attending a Division 1 University in the NCAA, being signed to the Dallas Cowboys, and now in the CFL, our strategy honed in on authentically demonstrating what it meant for Arjen to support the community, his family, and the next generation of student athletes. Through this approach, we aimed to connect with his audience on a deeper level and solidify his reputation as a respected and admired athlete.

SHARING HIS CRAFT
Remaining genuine and true to who he is across his digital footprint, we developed a structured content schedule for Arjen that brought his followers behind-the-scenes. We captured everything from his journey as a professional athlete, life as a trainer/coach, highlighted his rigorous training regimen, shouted out partnerships, and involvement in supporting youth sports.
As Arjen's following grew and engagement levels soared, it became evident that his authenticity and retold stories were resonating with audience — further solidifying his personal brand. That same sense of humility was extended throughout his candid conversations with popular Canadian news & sports outlets such as City of Champions, 2nd and Out, WinCity Sports, and The Edmonton Eskimos Football Podcast.

Our press and social media efforts helped establish and foster relationships with BODYLOGIX®, a supplement company committed to clean & quality ingredients, and truLOCAL, a provider of locally-sourced meat products from farm to table. Not only did our approach garner greater visibility, but also find partners that aligned with Arjen’s performance and were mindful of what people put in their bodies.
We then went on to capture those same stories and reinforce his presence within the CFL by launching a website to draw attention to causes Arjen supported like Windsor’s Finest Football Academy and NFL Play 60 program, support his team’s ticket purchases, create more public speaking opportunities, share moments from his time at Michigan State University, and drive awareness to his coaching availabilities at King Performance Systems, a training facility recognized for maximizing athletic potential.
