SCENARIO: Every year for the holidays, Him & Her, a multidisciplinary studio that focuses on web design, graphic design, marketing and software development, looks to give back to local communities. As we looked to our team to determine which charities they wanted to us to fundraise for, we decide to select all of them.

TASK: Develop a unique fundraising experience in collaboration with our creative signage specialist, Straus Design that welcomed the public to join in on a meaningful impact.

APPROACH

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Inspired by one of the most iconic game shows of all time @playplunko was born with the idea of reimagining the concept into a charitable endeavour that entertained donors.

Plunko aimed to be a charity donation game that was accessible, fun, and engaging. Regardless of donation amounts, donors had a chance to drop a PLUNKO chip on the board and witness which charity received their contribution; creating an element of excitement and unpredictability while ensuring that every charity received support.

Between scheduled announcements of the board's physical location throughout the city, a dedicated call-in phone hotline, and Instagram Live, we invited the public to follow along and join "contestants" in-person or remotely, offering real-time interaction and engagement.

Drawing inspiration from Bob Barker himself, we went to social with a nostalgic charm. From donation milestone announcements to location hints and sharing our gratitude, each post resonated with our audience and encouraged continued engagement. Using Instagram Story Highlights, we amplified main messages of our 10 participating charities and provided clear instructions on how to donate to the causes with or without PLUNKO.

To be held accountable for our efforts, we built a dedicated website for PLUNKO to provide real-time updates on donation progress and highlighting the impact of each contribution. This fostered trust and confidence in our fundraising efforts and encouraged continued engagement from the community.

Our tracking integration was paired with Square’s payment processing and backend systems, providing transparent collections for our partners and the public alike. By offering a user-friendly interface, every contribution was accounted for.

COME ON DOWN

With PLUNKO’s playful approach and call-in and in-person donations, we collected $3003.33 across 7 days. In addition to financial contributions, we increased awareness of 10 charitable organizations involved, and empowered donors to make a difference in their communities.
